A colourful patchwork quilt

Festival of Quilts is almost here

For the past month we have been receiving competition quilt’s for the Festival of Quilts. It is always fascinating to see how many people put so much time and effort into creating these masterpieces. We have had people come to our office from as far away as Durban, South Africa, to ensure their quilt is delivered safely.

Brad and Bill are now checking and double checking their lists to ensure all quilt’s have been received. Overall, we are expecting to handle 450 quilts! They will then be sorting them into boxes by competition, for their journey to the Quilt Angels at the NEC next week. On arrival, they will be professionally displayed and then judged.

There are fourteen categories in the competition ranging from My First Quilt to Fine Art Quilt Masters. There are also two children’s categories. It is clear how much time, effort and love has been put into each quilt.

As well as the competition there are also nearly 200 stands ranging from sewing machines to ribbon. This four day event is a bright and colourful extravaganza and is not one to be missed.
